SurfPro™ AOF is a 100% natural-origin oil thickening agent and cold process emulsifier. Supplied as an easy-to-use liquid, it is perfect for clear gel-to-milk cleansers, and many other cosmetic formulations. 

To enhance the stability of your formulation, especially at high temperatures, we recommend adding SucraBalance™ SP at 0.5- 1.0%.

SurfPro™ AOF SDS

To formulate with SurfPro™ AOF, completely immerse a paddle or other circular motion mixer in the SurfPro AOF combined with water phase and operate on high speed. Initially add the oil very slowly with a pipette. As the viscosity increases, increase the stirrer speed and height and add oil in small portions until fully incorporated. You cannot over stir. Your formulation must remain between pH 4.5-8 at all times (even during formulating) or the emulsion may separate. SurfPro AOF can be used either at room temperature or up to 80ºC. Shake/stir well before use.

SurfPro™ AOF will not add viscosity to emulsions or stability to the water phase, therefore it is recommended to add a rheology modifier to stabilize the water phase. To enhance the stability of your formulation, especially at high temperatures, we recommend adding SucraBalance™ SP at 0.5- 1.0%. If formulating with SucraBalance™ SP, mix directly into the SurfPro™ AOF and heat mixture to 70 - 80ºC for 5 minutes to allow SucraBalance™ SP to melt.

Recommended Usage Level:  20-25% to create an oily gel (SurfPro™ AOF will only gel vegetable oils and vegetable butters), 5-10% as a cold process emulsifier in o/w emulsions
