Gentle Cleanse Daily Shampoo
Mild, naturally derived and sulfate-free, daily-use shampoo. This gentle-cleansing shampoo is great for dry to normal hair types or people with sensitive scalps; it will leave your scalp feeling lightly moisturized not tight or irritated. This formula uses a blend of surfactants, naturally derived from coconut, pure silk fibers and amino acids, which produce a high foaming, hydrating cleanser with excellent rinse-ability.
Final product will be a neutral pH, amber-colored clear liquid.

Citric Acid (50% Solution)***** |
1. Combine Phase A ingredients in a large mixing container by gently mixing after addition of each ingredient. Heat mixture to 70°C (158°F) in double boiler.
2. In a separate mixing container, heat the water in Phase B until it reaches 70-80°C (158-176°F), and add the SurfThix DOE stirring until dissolved in solution. Add Phase B to Phase A ingredients and gently stir until thoroughly combined.
3. Remove mixing container from heat and allow to cool to 35°C (95°F) or cooler before addition of Phase C ingredients. If desired, place the mixing container in an ice bath to speed the cooling process.
4. Add Phase C ingredients and mix by gently stirring. As the mixture cools and over the next 24 hours, the shampoo will continue to thicken.
5. Test the pH. Adjust with 20% Citric Acid Solution to a final pH of 7.0-7.5.
Makes approximately 1000 grams or 35.27 ounces of shampoo. Ingredients can be cut in half to make only 500 grams or 17.64 ounces of shampoo at a time.
Notes:
*The Foaming Silk surfactant can be substituted with Foaming Apple or Foaming Oat with some variance in foaming ability.

***The Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein can be substituted with a different Hydrolyzed Protein (Oats, Quinoa, Rice Protein, Baobab, Silk Amino Acids) with some variance in shine and hydrating ability.
****QS From the Latin Quantum satis aka Quantity Sufficient means to use just as much as needed to achieve the desired result
