Silky & Hydrating Lotion with Babassu
Aristoflex AVC is a rheology modifier that can create gels as well as low oil phase lotions at up to 5% oil soluble ingredients. Babassu oil is a silky, dry feeling oil that offers moisturizing and occlusion to the skin as well as thickening to the lotion. In this formulation, Allantoin is added for its soothing, moisturizing and occlusive properties. Sea Kelp Bioferment is added for film forming, hydration, and soothing properties. Niacinamide and dl-Panthenol help improve the appearance of skin tone and texture. Hydrolyzed Rice Protein is an anti-irritant and offers conditioning and hydration to the lotion.
This is a cold process emulsion. If you have concerns about the quality of your water, heat and hold at 80°C (176°F) for 20 minutes and cool it to room temperature before proceeding.

1. Weigh Phase A ingredient in a heat proof container and place into a double boiler until it melts.
2. Combine all Phase B ingredients and stir to dissolve.
3. Pour phase A into phase B and mix with a stick blender or hand mixer for 1 to 2 minutes.
4. Add fragrance, if desired.
