Tripeptide-2 Solution

Tripeptide-2 Solution is a 3 amino acid peptide biomimetic of Elafin, an enzyme inhibitor involved in extracellular matrix integrity. 

Progerin is a senescence marker discovered through the understanding of Progeria, an accelerated aging condition in children.  Senescence is characterized by a build-up of progerin, a toxic protein which is critical for cellular activity (nucleus structure and DNA replication).  The accumulation of progerin causes nuclear defects and DNA damage, thus contributing to the appearance of signs of aging.

Present in fibroblasts and keratinocyes, progerin accumulates with time with higher levels occurring later in life.  Progerin expression is now used as a biomarker of cellular aging.

Tripeptide-2 Solution decreases progerin synthesis by acting directly on the senescence process to improve the signs associated with skin maturation: sagging, slacking and wrinkles.
