Tromethamine (base)

Tromethamine is rapidly becoming the preferred buffer and mild neutralizing amine for personal care and cosmetic products. The lower equivalent weight and higher pKa value of Tromethamine means it is more efficient than Triethanolamine (TEA) at lowering pH. Since Tromethamine is oxidatively stable, it should not cause yellowing or darkening in skin-care preparations upon storage.

Tromethamine is use dependent, for example some rheology modifiers may need to have the neutralizer added before or after. Pre-dissolving the powder in water is not necessary, however, you can if you prefer. Tromethamine is heat tolerant, so you can add it in the first water phase as well to speed up it dissolving .
Typical usage rate: 0.1-1%, as needed to lower pH
