TerraCera™ Renew NP SDS

Formulation Guide

TerraCera™ Renew NP is appropriate for O/W emulsions and anhydrous formulations. TerraCera™ Renew NP should be pre-dissolve in the oil phase in a polar oil solvent at normal emulsion forming temperatures; it can be heated to 75-90°C. Avoid heating above 100°C. It is lipophilic therefore is recommended to be dissolved in polar oils such as Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Isopropyl myristate or Isocetyl alcohol before adding it to the formulation. Using Isocetyl alcohol enables lower processing temperature to approximately 50-60°C. Use a high shear mixer to help ensure even dispersion.

Compatibility: Use solubilizers (polyglyceryl esters, lecithin, polysorbate). Non-ionic surfactant preferability to not disrupt lipid structure, e.g. PEG-100 stearate, Glyceryl stearate, and Ceteareth-20. Good compatibility with polyols e.g. glycerol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, and sorbitol. Short chain alcohols have limited compatibility, can destabilize ceramide structures.

Suggested Use Rate: 0.02% – 3%
Appearance: White to off-white powder
Recommended pH Range: 4.0 – 8.0
Solubility: Oil-soluble, water in-soluble
