Cetearyl Alcohol NF

Cetearyl Alcohol NF is a vegetable sourced fatty alcohol derived from palm fatty alcohols (cetyl and stearyl alcohol) used to thicken and stabilize formulations. To meet the NF Standard, Cetearyl Alcohol NF must contain a minimum of 40% stearyl alcohol and the sum of both stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol must be not less than 90.0% and not more than 102.0% of the total mixture.
Cetearyl Alcohol imparts an emollient feel to the skin. It can be used in water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, and anhydrous formulations--cream, lotion, ointment, body butter, salt scrubs.
